On the occasion of 160 years of diplomatic relations between France and Japan, President Emmanuel Macron wanted to mark this "exceptional partnership" by making the country of the rising sun one of the distinguished guests of the next military parade July 14, 2018.
Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe will accompany the President of the French Republic in the official gallery. This year the Japanese troops are honored during the parade. The emblem of their nation will be composed of six soldiers of the land force of self-defense commanded by a detachment commander.
