Le Musée d’Art Moderne de Paris host the first retrospective devoted to Victor Brauner (1903-1966), since 1972, from April 1 to August 30, 2020. This exhibition will gather about 80 paintings, as well as an important set of drawings, sculptures, objects. It will be presented at the Barnes Foundation in Philadelphia in the autumn of 2020. Born in Romania, the artist participated in the artistic effervescence of the 1920s, crossed by the avant-gardes (expressionism, constructivism Dadaism ...) , before sliding towards a dreamlike painting and then integrating the surrealist movement in Paris in 1933. The works of the artist are very marked by supernatural or mythical symbols. The painter brings us into his dreamlike and mysterious world, where different themes come back: eroticism, the interpretation of dreams, esotericism or even alchemy. The museum is open every day from 10am to 6pm except Monday
