From October 22, 2020 until April 4, 2021, le Musée des Arts Décoratifs de Paris will host the exhibition "Thierry Mugler: couturissime", initiated, produced by le Musée des beaux-arts de Montréal (MBAM). This major exhibition which traces the work of a creator with a unique imagination, who revolutionized fashion and haute couture was presented as a world premiere at the MBAM in 2019.
The Museum is delighted to pay tribute to him, far from a classic retrospective, it is all life and energy, of which both Thierry Mugler and Manfred are synonymous, which are highlighted here in the renovated and expanded spaces of the Stephen and Christine Schwarzmann Fashion galleries of Musée des Arts Décoratifs.
It will be a multidisciplinary exhibition devoted to the 80s, from design to graphic design, from fashion to advertising, celebrating one of the most fruitful and creative decades of the 20th century, a cultural decade that has become an inexhaustible source of inspiration for the creation of our time.
