Magical Unicorn Exhibition at the Cluny Museum

For its partial reopening Musée du Moyen-Age - Musée de Cluny hosts an exhibition to the mythical and mystical animal entitled "Magical Unicorns" from July 14, 2018 to February 25, 2019.
The exhibition starts with the famous tapestries held by the museum, La Dame à la Licorne. Woven around 1500, these tapestries show the importance of the mythical animal in medieval times. Considered a magical creature, the unicorn is a symbol of chastity and innocence. It has a horn with anti-poison virtues, and purifies liquids.
The exhibition tends to highlight "the diversity of contexts in which it is represented at the end of the Middle Ages at the time when are woven the tapestries of La Chasse à la Licorne and La Dame à la Licorne".
